Upon entering our office our receptionist will greet you and welcome you as a member of our family. As a paperless clinic all patient information is filled out online via our Patient Portal.
However we understand everyone is not comfortable with accessing the internet so we have plenty of paper forms (although its not green) when you come in for your first visit. Please allow 20 minutes prior to your appointment time to complete your new patient forms.
Next you will have a consultation with our doctor to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, as well as potential treatment options. Your first visit is designed to allow us to learn more about you, your condition and your expectations to determine whether chiropractic care will help you meet your health goals as well as give you the opportunity to ask questions about your healthcare options.
After your consultation, our doctor will perform a complete chiropractic examination testing your reflexes, your ability to turn and bend as well as other standard neurologic, orthopedic, postural, and physical examinations. Nothing will be done in our office without your consent.
Your specific condition may require us to take x-rays. X-rays help us determine the alignment in your spine, if you have spinal decay (arthritis), as well as other serious conditions and assist us in developing the most effective treatment plan for you. Most people are amazed once they see their x-rays and can often immediately identify their problems and degeneration themselves.
Because our doctor will need time to review your case history, your exam, and x-rays, once all the information and examinations have been performed, our office manager will set up another appointment for you later on in the day, or another day in the week. At this next visit, the new patient orientation and report of findings, our doctor will spend 15-30 minutes discussing with you the four most popular questions new patients have:
If you have a condition that requires care with other providers, the doctor will advise you of this.
Due to the extremely effective and unique technique and protocols our doctor incorporates into your corrective care programs, it is highly recommended that your spouse/significant other accompany you to the report so that he/she may fully understand your health issues, the recommendations that are being made, and is able to help you follow through with home-care exercises and stretches. Furthermore, it is our belief that families need to make all decisions, including health-related decisions, as a family! This will be the only appointment your spouse/significant other is encouraged to be at.
Patients will generally not be adjusted/treated at the conclusion of their first visit. Rather, after the doctor reviews the exam and x-ray findings and meet with you at your new patient orientation/report of findings, he will then begin care with you. This may include spinal adjustments, physical therapy / rehab, and/or soft tissue therapy. Treatment is interactive with you so you can express any concerns you have about the style of techniques you will be most comfortable with.
At the conclusion of the new patient orientation, our patients are instructed on a wellness program to be conducted at home. If you are in pain when you first come into our office this may include ice or heat application instructions, avoidance of certain activities or positions, as well as home exercises and/or stretches. If you desire an overall wellness lifestyle, our wellness team will work with you to create good habits and routines that support your success. Every body is unique and different and therefore everyone requires a unique and customized wellness plan. The foundation of our overall wellness lifestyle is maintaining healthy posture and good spinal alignment, eating a healthy diet, taking supplements, keeping your weight under control and stress relief.
